WHAT’S NEW IN THE 2019 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500?

August 7th, 2018 by

The Chevy Silverado 1500 has taken some steps in the 2019 model to make it even bigger, better, and more luxurious.

Even though we, here at Serra Chevrolet Akron, adore the 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500, we can’t wait until the 2019 arrives. Here are some of the reasons that we are looking forward to the revamped and upgrade 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500:

It’s Lost Weight – For the 2019 model, Chevy has trimmed down the Silverado 1500 by almost 450-pounds, without compromising the toughness of the Silverado’s namesake. Lighter materials have replaced the bulky doors, hood, and tailgate, while the bed and fenders are still the reliable steel that we know and love.
It’s Bigger – Even though it weighs less, the 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 is larger. It has a wheelbase that is 3.9-inches longer than the 2018 version, which adds more room for rear passengers, some large storage bins, and a larger bed option.
It’s New Diesel Engine – A turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six diesel engine is being introduced to the powertrain options, which will include the stop/start technology and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
It’s Eight Trim Levels – From the base Work Truck to the high-class High Country, drivers from Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Canton, Tallmadge, and Randolph will have plenty of trim levels from which they can choose. Each comes with their own specific design features and additional options as well as their set starting price.
