CHEVY TRUCK SHOWDOWN: SILVERADO VS COLORADO

July 10th, 2019 by

When it’s Chevy vs. Chevy, there are no losers.

If you’re in the market for a Chevy pickup truck, you may be wondering what the differences are between the full-size Silverado and the compact-size Colorado.

After finding out some of the details about each one (Like that both models come with optional AWD), you’ll have a better idea of which Chevy pickup is just right for you.

Price

As you’d expect, the Colorado is the winner in this category, starting out at $21,300.

The Silverado is quite a jump, coming in at $32,200.

Keep in mind, this is the base price for each vehicle and all the extras can add up and change the game.

Still, we’re gonna call this one for the Colorado.

Seat comfort

There are a few trade-offs here.

The Colorado comes with standard, power-adjustable driver’s seat but small, fold-out rear seats (in the extended-cab model) that are a little cramped.

On the other hand, the Silverado has more room in the back and a firm, bench seat in the front.

Winner: Tie.

Cargo space

The Silverado is the runaway winner in this category.

And not just when compared to the Colorado but against other full-size pickups, too.

The short bed is 63 cubic feet, the standard is 72, and the long bed is a whopping 89 cubic feet.

Interior features
Both vehicles have great, user-friendly features.

But the Silverado’s 2019 upgrade pushes it to the top in this category.

It has the Chevrolet Infotainment 3, 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In addition, there are LED lights in the bed and a 110/120-volt power outlet.

Acceleration
The Chevy Silverado comes standard with a V6 engine that creates 285 horsepower OR you can get a turbo-charged four-cylinder with 310 horsepower.

But that’s not all the Silverado has to offer. You can also choose the 355-horsepower 5.3 liter V8 or the 6.2 liter V8.

On the other hand, the Chevy Colorado’s most powerful engine is the gas V6 that makes 308 horsepower.

Winner: Silverado.

Trouble choosing?
Both vehicles offer a great all-wheel-drive option and many other benefits.
